Eine 41-jährige Frau fuhr am Sonntagmorgen gegen 02:10 Uhr mit ihrem BMW auf der B 14 von Waiblingen in Richtung Backnang. Kurz vor der Anschlussstelle Waiblingen-Mitte bemerkte sie Rauch aus der Lüftung und hielt am Straßenrand an. Die drei Insassen verließen das Auto, das bald darauf in Flammen stand. Die Feuerwehr Waiblingen-Beinstein löschte das Feuer nach kurzer Zeit mit zwei Fahrzeugen und 18 Einsatzkräften. Während der Lösch- und Reinigungsarbeiten musste die Straße voll gesperrt werden und konnte gegen 06:30 Uhr wieder freigegeben werden.
