Vermutlich aufgrund eines technischen Defektes an einem Wasserkocher kam es am Donnerstagnachmittag gegen 16 Uhr in einer Wohnung in der Bruckwiesenstraße zu einem Küchenbrand. Als die Bewohnerin das Feuer bemerkte, startete sie noch Löschversuche und verständigte die Feuerwehr. Die Freiwillige Feuerwehr Weinstadt kam mit fünf Fahrzeugen und 28 Einsatzkräften vor Ort und konnte das Feuer schnell löschen, der entstandene Sachschaden beläuft sich ersten Schätzungen zufolge auf 5000 Euro. Verletzt wurde glücklicherweise niemand.
