Eine 31-jährige Frau ging am Donnerstagmorgen kurz nach 9:30 Uhr mit ihren Kindern den Stegwiesenweg parallel zur Rems entlang. Auf Höhe eines dortigen Vereinsheims ging die vierjährige Tochter in Richtung Remsufer und stürzte schließlich in den Fluss. Die Mutter begab sich anschließend ebenfalls in die Rems um ihre Tochter aus dem Wasser zu holen, was ihr jedoch nicht gelang. Aufmerksame Passanten, die die Situation beobachtet hatten, halfen den beiden schließlich aus dem Wasser. Das Mädchen wurde vorsorglich zur Untersuchung in ein Krankenhaus gebracht.
